In Celtic mythology Hawthorn is one of the most sacred trees and symbolises love and protection. Brides would collect hawthorn sprigs and flowers and wear the blossom in their hair or bouquet to symbolise their union of love.
Historically hawthorn was thought to be given as tokens of both friendship and love. It was said to help release blocked energy and stress and allow for open-hearted communication. Huathe is the Ogham (old Gaelic language) letter and name for the hawthorn tree, pronounced "hoo-ah,"
To ensure no ill will from the Fairies that live within the Hawthorn, this pen has been hand crafted from storm felled Hawthorn wood.
